On your mark, get set, wait, what is this an engine light! And we weren't even out of the driveway yet. Yep! that's how we started our vacation. So off to the airport to report the problem and get another car. Oh yeah, and $100 off the bill. TY Jesus. I'm so glad that engine light went off before we started on the road and up the Grapevine. So now instead of the Dodge Charger we are driving a KIA SUV. Probably a better vehicle with all the miles we plan to put on it. We lunched in Kettleman City, CA and drove through the "Congress Created Dust Bowls" or so the many signs keep telling us. Sorry, we didn't get any pictures. We arrived in Sacramento at 6:40pm and checked-in at the Best Western. I love these hotels. Most of them have a free breakfast and their rooms are always spacious and very clean. After settling into our room we (Roger) decided in would be fun to take a walk (hike) along the Sacramento River since it was just outside our back door. After trekking about 1/2 mile out I decided we'd strolled far enough and we headed back. We ate at the Coyote Junction which was a Mexican Restarunt adjacent to the Hotel.
